Empathy Exams
 Quotes:
"Melissa Byers is most likely a woman who felt invisible and disrespected all her life. The world never cared about anything she had to say. Now, all of a sudden it does" (Empathy Exams).

We can show more empathy towards Melissa Byers because being disrespected and treated as if you are invincible are things as humans we wish to never experience. We can empathize with the people who have lost their voice because they are not in power or don't have the same social status as the person next to them. That in some ways is the case with cooties you are disrespected by kids on the playground and they run away from you once you are infected. The difference is in the case with cooties you are very much visible and kids will lookout for you throughout the day because they don't want to pick up your cooties. We begin these cliques at an early age and over time kids form groups, but there are always the ones who are left out.

"Even when people got together for dinner, somewhere private, they wouldn't focus on what their lives had become: scared to go drinking, scared to go to work, sacred to catch a bus or buy a pack of cigarettes or cross the fucking street. Now they can talk. Speaking is easier when the worst has been pushed out of earshot - Past the point of being taunted, by delusions of safety, into some vengeful return" (Jamison 58).

We can show more empathy towards those who are afraid because of the situations they have seen or experienced. It is important to understand the feelings of other to show more empathy towards them. This quote also relates to cooties because once someone is infected they are avoided and everyone is scared to go near them. Same goes for our second disease SPONTANEOUS DENTAL-HYDROPLOSION when someone sees's this person face they initially get this feeling of fear and we should be more empathetic towards these people by understanding their circumstances from a fictional standpoint.
